You do not need to worry about a lengthy preparation for injectable treatments since they are performed quickly and do not result in as significant changes to the face when compared to surgical treatments.

We do, however, generally recommend that any and all of our patients avoid anti-inflammatory medications and fish oil or Vitamin E products in the week leading up to their injectables because they can cause a higher chance of bruising and discomfort after the treatment.

What Should I Expect from a Juvéderm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus Procedure?

The procedure is performed very efficiently. You will be brought back into the procedure room and asked to hold cold compresses on your face for several minutes to help numb the skin and shrink tiny blood vessels in the treatment areas. Your face then will be cleansed to help prevent infection. Then, the injections will be made into the targeted parts of your face. Once those have finished, your face will be cleaned again, and you will be given mii-cold compress material to continue for a while on your way home or back to work. The entire process should take less than 30 to 45 minutes, assuming that you have already had the thorough evaluation and risk/benefit discussion with Dr. Terrasse beforehand.

What Should I Expect During Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra Plus Recovery?

Most patients describe the discomfort as very mild or negligible. Minor degrees of redness and swelling are also normal but less common, and all of these symptoms typically subside within one to two or so days. You will not need to take any time away from work, school or other responsibilities, and you can immediately begin your usual routines- though working out, heavy lifting or other strenuous activities should be delayed for several hours.
