What Is Dual Peel?
Dual peel is a unique combined treatment. The two treatments a patient undergoes during dual peel include:
Microdermabrasion: During microdermabrasion, the skin is exfoliated by being sprayed with fine crystals. When the crystals hit the skin, it removes dead and damaged skin cells on the top layer of the skin. The microdermabrasion device consists of a vacuum, so it simultaneously removes dead cells from the skin and vacuums them. Microdermabrasion is a gentle treatment that can help improve skin texture, uneven pigments and restore the skin from sun damage, making your complexion appear brighter and more lively.
Microneedling: Also known as collagen-induction therapy, microneedling is a treatment that involves puncturing the skin with many tiny needles. By doing so, microneedling provokes the skin’s natural healing response, which stimulates your production of collagen. With improved collagen production, the skin becomes tighter and firmer. Microneedling is a safe and effective treatment that’s particularly useful for smoothing the skin of lines and wrinkles, evening skin tone, reducing pores and improving the appearance of scars.

The Dual Peel Procedure
For dual peel, microdermabrasion is performed on the skin first. Our aesthetic expert will cleanse and steam the face, which will soften the skin and open the pores. Next, fine crystals will be sprayed on the face, exfoliating the skin of any dead skin cells. The spray is gentle, but a tingling sensation may be experienced, which your skin will get acclimated to. Once the fine crystal spray is over, a warm towel will be applied to remove any excess crystals. How long the microdermabrasion phase lasts depends on what’s being treated, but usually lasts for 20 minutes to one hour.
After microdermabrasion, your aesthetician will begin the microneedling process. An anesthetic cream will be applied to help mitigate any pain felt during the treatment. The microneedling device will then be applied to areas where treatment is desired. How deep the tiny needles prick the skin is customized based on your unique needs. With each minute needle penetration, microchannels are formed that remain for four to six hours. A serum may be applied that’ll penetrate the deeper layers of skin, through the microchannels, to cool and calm the skin. The microneedling treatment usually last for 30 minutes to one hour.

After treatment, the skin may be red or swollen, almost looking like a bad sunburn, and bleeding may be present. These are normal reactions to the dual peel treatment and go away shortly. Patients should avoid the sun and wear ample sunscreen for the next couple of days because the skin will be sensitive.
After treatment, the skin will look more fresh and bright. It’ll have a more even complexion and lack wrinkles, appearing smooth and with vitality.
