ABOUT DR. TERRASSE

For over nineteen years, Dr. Anthony Terrasse has worked hard to listen to his patients’ desires, provide information and education on Plastic Surgery and skin health, utilize his ever expanding experience and expertise, and deliver excellent results with enthusiasm. These personal and professional standards, as well as the quality of his performance, have made it possible for him to be repeatedly chosen one of the Chicago Metropolitan Area’s Top Doctors by the Castle Connolly Medical Organization, identified as one of the Top Surgeons in Aesthetic Surgery by the Consumers Research Council of America, and selected as one of Chicago’s Top Doctors in Plastic Surgery by both Chicago and North Shore magazines.

He is motivated by the challenges inherent in the growing field of Cosmetic Surgery and the issues of image enhancement and self-esteem in both adults and children, and he strives to provide superior care to his and his referring physicians’ patients. Dr. Terrasse is excited by the challenge of being a top quality physician, surgeon, and mentor, and, at the same time, provide personalized care to each of his patients.

Dr. Terrasse was born and raised in southern Florida. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1979, Magna Cum Laude, with a B.S. degree in Preprofessional Studies and was elected to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa organization at that time. He is also a 1983 graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School. His residency training then consisted of three years of General Surgery training followed by three additional years of Plastic Surgery training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Since 1989, he has been in private practice along Chicago’s North Shore, maintaining privileges at Lake Forest Hospital, Highland Park Hospital, Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital and Condell Medical Center. In addition, he has experience as a faculty member of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Northwestern where he instructed Plastic Surgery residents-in-training.

Dr. Terrasse has been board certified in Plastic Surgery since 1991 and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) since 1996. He is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and the Chicago Society of Plastic Surgery (CSPS).

His role as a spokesperson for both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has made him a valuable resource and contributor to both local and national media outlets, such as the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun Times, Pioneer Press newspapers, Chicago, North Shore, People, Fitness, Child, and Satisfaction magazines, WLS-TV, and ABC News, to name a few. His expertise with, and emphasis on, staying at the forefront of Aesthetic Surgery makes him a frequent and popular speaker at women’s seminars and hospital and community based events.
